One of my favorite routes, with, yeah, 2 tunnels in it.
The beautiful old Maastunnel and the newer Beneluxtunnel. Both are an event, the Maastunnel with its long wooden escalators and the all concrete very steep Beneluxtunnel. It has a speed limit of 30 kmh. ? Yes, always ;)
Both specially made for bikes which is in fact impressive.

Admiring the sunset near the entrance to tunnel 1 (depending on the direction...), the Beneluxtunnel.
A small car emerged from a gate nearby. In it was a man who blocked the elevator and escalator. Maintenance. Tunnel closed.
Had I not been admiring the sunset, this would have been a different story. OK no problem, sometimes the unexpected can lead to interesting things. |

Decided to make a loop back home to get my kms and came to this obscure bike path
next to a highway. (A4 near junction Vlaardingen-Oost)

It was getting dark but this path became very dark very quickly. |

And there was light at the end of the tunnel.
Ah well at least some kind of tunnel... |
