| Goal is Hartel. Rainy night, very little animo to go. Not because of the rain, I like that. Packed extra clothing and rain gear, glad I did.
One part of the (unofficial) path had changed. Gates, fences, pumps and machinery. And mud. Went through anyway as I was on my mudbike.
More changes: the Botlek bridge was rebuilt. Or at least the old bike path had completely disappeared. |
| A temporary bike bridge-path-construction had been built, which was pretty in its own way and fun to ride on. |
|
|
| A mesmerizing view of the (chemical) plant lights through the swaying trees. |
| On the other side of the unfinished bridge, bike path partially raw concrete. Same sort of construction here. |
| Was fun going down there with the lights and the staffolding. |
| Two ways to the Hartel traffic knot, this one bending down under the bridge highway. |
|
|
| Cold wind and more rain here along an asphalt factory. This was supposed to go all the way along the water but the road ended in a swamp, too much water and mud. Looked like the asphalt had been removed, just a trench remained.
I suspect that asphalt factory. |
| On the Hartel. Beautiful place here, especially when the rain makes shiny surfaces. |
|
|
| Unaware that I cooled down rapidly by the continuous wind and wetness, I could not use my fingers anymore to work the tiny buttons on my camera. Will have to adapt for when winter comes.
Would have liked to stay longer. Called it a night. Will go here again for sure. |
| And another colorful rainy shot here in Vlaardingen.
All in all glad I went out anyway. The way back was a breeze, litterally. Even the steep Benelux tunnel was friendly. |
