This time determined to get to the pier and puzzled the shortest route. What a nice long drive along a river.
|
| Left late at night so I would be there early in the morning. |
| Great cloudy sky, getting light. Continuous 4-5 bft. headwind, some showers. Wonderful. Standing on a kind of lookout hill near the waterkering. |
| Looking back from that same hill, taking a break, enjoying the sunrise and the wind. |
| Just read it will be test-closed 17 september. Good reason to drive HvH again, then. |
|
|
| Going down the hill greeted by the Rotterdam, going back to... Rotterdam. Me, not yet. |
| Yep, still on the right path. |
| Nice bikepath. The lighthouses remind me of the stupid poles they put in the middle of bikepaths - I nearly drove into one here in the dark. |
| There it is. What a sight. Crushing sounds of dead crabs under my wheels. The bike stank for weeks. |
| Sunrise between sky, water and rocks. |
| Some waves splashing over the edge but had to get to the end of course. |
| As far as you can get away from the coast. Actually those concrete cubes go on for a few miles. Wonder if anyone has climbed to THAT end.
The Maasvlakte sticks out a bit more, my next goal for sure.

Very tempting.
... and odd place for a helipad. |
| What a sense of distance. And it's only a mile or so. Could spend a whole day here sitting in a deckchair. |
| On the way back. A little kink in the river where the water recedes at low tide. |

|
| Measuring wings |
| And a nice shot to conclude a nice tour. |
