It is a very sunny day. Don't feel very fit but the bright light outside is beckoning. So prepared the fixie, packed some food and clothes and off we go. No fixed plan but always best to start against the wind direction. Which is a mild southeast today.
(strava app kicked in a few kms too late)

| A short stop under the Brienenoord bridge. |
| What a nice contrast in scale. Apart from the light and dark. |
|
|
| You can drop your anchor here. |
| Noah should have outsourced. |
| A short stop somewhere at the Nieuwe Maas |
|
|
| Nature doesn't care about man-made things. Here, a man didn't care about nature. |

|
| A short rollercoaster path opens up to this view very nicely. |
| Jack must be close. Sorry, CAPTAIN Jack |
| Allright so I photographed a windmill. There. It is done. Moving on. |
| Sun is getting low. Glad I have sunglasses. |
| The Oude Maas. Dinner time.
Sitting here on the side of the Maas ('aan de kant van de Maas' in Dutch) I remember it is my longtime friend's birthday today. His name is Joost Maaskant. Happy birthday, Joost. Cheers! |
| Would love to take a swim |
| Adjusted chainring and chain tension. For some reason the chain got tighter than when I left.
And on 46x16 now which seems not much different from 46x17. See how that goes with stronger headwinds. And still on tealight wax chainlube! Just perfect for a fixie. |
| Lots of little lambs silhouetting against the setting sun. |
| Was just in time to capture the bright red lit boat |
| Lucky shot. Bit cliché, but I like it. |
| Back on the Vondelingen bike bridge. That was a beautiful warm and sunny spring ride.
Been to both the Oude and the Nieuwe Maas - the old and the new. They both flow into the sea anyway, eventually. Allemaal één pot nat.
Must rename the Vondelingen bike bridge to Philosophy Bridge.
Moving on. |
